A fantastic brief discussion of foundations, seismic retrofitting, and the Brace and Bolt grant program for seismic bracing, followed by a lively and informative Q&A session… you won’t want to miss it!


Pre-Meeting – 5:30 to 6:50 pm

Paul Barraza, Immediate Past Chapter President, will discuss findings from a recent inspection.

Lee Parsons, Chapter Vice-President, will provide a report writing analysis associated with home inspection deficiencies.

  • This training is FREE to those attending the Chapter business and education meeting. Attendees earn one ASHI CE.

Dinner — 6:45 pm

We suggest arriving early to ensure dinner availability. WE RESERVE DINNER IN ADVANCE. Registrations received after 7/9/2018 will NOT include dinner. We also cannot accept cancellations or postponements after 7/9/2018.

Chapter Business Meeting  — 7:00 to 7:45 pm

Chapter Vice-President, Lee Parsons, presides as chapter members discuss Chapter news as well as local and national home inspection matters. This meeting is open to all (including non-members) and guests are welcome with questions, or to simply learn more about the home inspection profession.

Educational Presentation — 7:45 to 9:00 pm

“Foundations, Seismic, Brace and Bolt”

Rick Hoffman of Rick Hoffman Services has been serving Bay Area remodeling and seismic retrofitting needs for over 30 years and worked on the pilot program that led to the development of today’s Earthquake Bolt and Brace program that provides grants for seismic bracing.

Rick will bring his expertise to a short discussion of foundation issues, seismic retrofitting, and the Brace and Bolt program.  He will then open up for a Q&A session on topics of particular interest to attendees.  Bring your questions and look forward to a lively and informative discussion!

Attendees earn one ASHI CE.

Registration and Fees
  • $45 with registration by 7/9/2018
  • $55 with registration after 7/9/2018, same-day registration, or ‘at the door’
  • Registrations after 7/9/2018 or “at the door” DO NOT INCLUDE DINNER
  • We are unable to accommodate attendees to ‘listen only’.  You must purchase dinner to attend the meeting.

Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable to other dates as we pay for dinner in advance.  If you register and fail to cancel by 6/9/2018, you will be charged as the chapter will be charged for your meal.
