“Assessing Rental Safety”
Jay Marlette is a Past President of Golden Gate ASHI and more recently is also working as a Building Inspector I (Code Enforcement) for the City of El Cerrito. The City of El Cerrito requires that all its rentals are safe and sanitary. Property owners are required to have a rental inspection performed by the City of El Cerrito and to perform any repairs identified by the city inspector. The basis for these repairs are found in the International Property Maintenance Code, which has been adopted by the City of El Cerrito, and the California Health and Safety Code. Once the property passes the Owner is issued a certificate of compliance, which is good for two years.
Jay is an engaging and knowledgeable speaker and understands the needs of the home inspector. Come with your questions!
Attendees earn one ASHI CE.
